Pastor’ & Couples’ Retreats

More than just an elegant getaway, The Lodge is a place for personal renewal and encouragement. To best accommodate your busy schedule and needs, we are currently offering two different retreat options.

Pastors’ Retreats

4- and 5-Day

Our Pastors’ Retreat provides church leaders and their wives with an environment to draw close to God and to each other. Enter into a relaxing schedule designed to help you enjoy fellowship with God and others.

Being a Christian leader is both inspiring and challenging. The expectations and demands can best be met by periodic times of reflection and refreshment.

For nearly four decades, pastors have befriended Life Action. More than 6,000 pastors have hosted a Life Action event. Now we have the joy of returning that hospitality and blessing to God’s shepherds.

Up to eight couples can stay at The Lodge at one time, which lends to both solitude and fellowship in an environment of luxurious accommodations, scrumptious cuisine, and nature at its finest.

A Pastors’ Retreat is a chance to spend time with God. We want to rekindle pastors’ love for Christ, His church, and their relationships. See for yourself why so many pastors have been blessed by a retreat at The Lodge.

Sample Schedule

Each retreat begins with an afternoon check-in, followed by dinner at 6:00 and an evening small group discussion. The daily schedule begins with either a full breakfast, or a light breakfast with a brunch at 10:30. There is a mid-morning small group discussion each day.

Afternoons are free for couples to spend at their leisure, either on site or in the surrounding community. Dinner is at 6:00, followed by an evening gathering. The last day of the retreat ends at noon after a full breakfast and a closing session.

Couples’ Retreats

The Couples’ Retreat is a three-day getaway for anyone desiring to invest in their marriage.

Our beautiful facilities, immaculate housekeeping, and gourmet meals will envelop you in luxury. What better location to escape from the demands of life to rest, reflect, and be refreshed together as a couple!

Couples’ Retreats at The Lodge are designed to strengthen your marriage. Whether you seek simple refreshment or restoration, the time you spend together will pay rich dividends of love, loyalty, and closeness. Our marriage retreats are a sound investment in your future. Ed & Gayle Villalba

As Director of Pastoral Care, Ed serves as “the pastors’ pastor” during our retreats. When Ed was seventeen, God confirmed his call to full-time ministry, and he spent almost 47 years in various ministries before coming to The Lodge in 2007 with his wife, Gayle. While having an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Calvary Christian College and Seminary of Kalamazoo, MI, Ed’s background of pastoral and counseling service helps him relate to pastors’ needs.

Wilson & Laura Green

Having obtained two undergraduate degrees and a Master’s from Liberty University, Wilson pastored for 21 years in Virginia and Illinois. In 1999 God led him and his family to Life Action, where he served as Summit Ministries Director for four years before traveling on the road as a Family Revival Seminar Instructor.

He and his wife, Laura, have three children: Ryan, Alicia, and Justin.

LeRoy & Kimberly Wagner

LeRoy and Kimberly Wagner are committed to helping the body of Christ understand how to connect the truth of Scripture to daily life. You may have heard them on the Focus on the Family radio program.

Several years ago, the Wagners reached a desperate place in their marriage, and in their book, Men Who Love Fierce Women: The Power of Servant Leadership in Your Marriage, they share how God is able to bring a glorious transformation to the most hopeless situations. Kim enjoys connecting with women, and encouraging them to be students of the Word, through her (almost) daily blog.

Steve & Monique Rogier

Steve & Monique have been married for nearly 32 years. They met in college in Virginia.   The Lord has allowed them to serve at Community Bible Church in Swansea, Illinois since June of 1993.  Steve serves as the Lead Pastor, and Monique as the Women’s Ministry Coordinator.

God has blessed them with three children, Betsy (married to Darren), David (married to Madelyn), and Jacob (engaged to be married to Richelle).   They regularly give thanks that their “people” (all 6) love the Lord, and are faithfully serving Him.

This year, the teaching focus in Community Bible Church’s various ministries (pulpit, men’s, women’s and Family Discipleship) is “Delighting in the Fear of The Lord.”

They have greatly enjoyed retreating at The Lodge, since first being introduced to Life Action and Revive Our Hearts in 2011.  Their prayer is that God will use them to encourage other servants who come to The Lodge to be refreshed in the Lord.

Randy & Carlene Huckabee

Randy is the Lead Pastor of FBC Dade City, Florida and a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity. He received his ThD in 1996 from International Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Florida. Randy has served the past 30 years as a senior pastor in NC, GA and Florida.

Carlene is currently teaching Accelerated Reading in a middle school. She has also served as the Director of discipling for 16 years for the Life Counseling Center, and was the Director of discipling and woman’s ministries at a prior church. She continues to disciple as her schedule allows and is certified by The Exchange Life Ministries.

Carlene and Randy have been married for 39 years and are originally from NC. They have two married children, Aaron and Abigail, and love spending time with their five grandchildren. Carlene has been involved in music ministry as well as enjoying calligraphy. Randy has been a nuisance alligator trapper for the past 16 years and enjoys all aspects of the outdoors.
